A well-known song in the Turkish-influenced style. This syncopated rhythm became popular in the suburbs of Bucharest in the 1980s. This repertoire then formed the basis for much of the folk-influenced pop music still produced in Romania today (the much-maligned 'manele').
We based our version on the classic recording by Gabi Lunca and Ion Onoriu, but kept it as an instrumental rendition, with the violin and accordion sharing the melody.
